Pros

Great staff in the school allows for a fun atmosphere. Get to meet people from all over the world.

Cons

There's only so much you can develop in this industry if you don't want to manage a school. Accommodation department can mean dealing with a lot of complaints. Overall though it was a good experience.

Kaplan International Languages Response

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your experiences at Kaplan International Languages. I could not agree more that our school teams create a fun atmosphere, in a hugely diverse setting, to help create the best learning experience for our students. Thank you for your reflections about development within the ELT industry. Over the years, the operations management team has tried to create career development opportunities for school staff including instructors. Indeed many of our company's leaders have risen through the ranks having started in the classroom. Additionally, our Human Resources teams organize learning and development opportunities for all staff. For example, in 2021 wee will be launching the Kaplan Language Group Learning Series which will help our employees develop skills or interests outside of their current role. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Warm regards, Dave (C.O.O.)

Pros

You're coming into an established system, so it's good for new teachers who are still learning who they are in the classroom.

Cons

The company sometimes lets bad student behavior slide because the pockets behind those students run deep. Also, that established system can feel repetitive unless you're bringing in a lot of outside enrichment, but they don't like paying for continued prep time.
