Pros
A major plus for any cybersecurity company is that you’re helping the global fight against cybercrime, and what’s not to like about that? Kaspersky’s career progression is also straightforward and meritocratic. During my time there, at the start of each year you’d agree specific targets with your manager - with annual salary increases and performance bonus linked to success in meeting these. And the company is truly global. So depending on which function you’re looking at, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues all around the world.
Cons
On the minus side are the obvious geopolitical issues, which were a constant backdrop due to Kaspersky’s Russian heritage. If you’re in two minds because of this, it might help to know that Kaspersky operates a network of ‘Transparency Centres’ around the globe, which customers, regulators etc. can visit to check out the company’s code and processes and confirm they’re squeaky clean.
