Pros

The role offers a good variety of tasks, with different work each day, which helps keep the job interesting and engaging. Shift work provides flexibility, allowing time off during both weekdays and weekends, which can be a great benefit for work–life balance. Employees also have access to discounts through Blue Light, which is a nice added perk.

Cons

The work environment can be extremely stressful, with staff often pushed to their limits. Ongoing reductions in staffing levels have resulted in increased workloads and added pressure on remaining officers, which can significantly impact morale and wellbeing. The management often argue with other departments with led to cases being put on hold until someone takes ownership and support with welfare isn’t great.
