Pros
Fantastic place to work if you're driven, have strong written and verbal skills, and are interested in politics and policy. You'll gain a ton of responsibility very quickly -- and it will be up to you to "get smart" on new issues that are important to your client. If you enjoy a challenge and can craft a good argument, you'll succeed. KBC's greatest strength are its people. To sum it up, no one takes themselves too seriously -- but everyone pulls their weight and takes pride in their work. Managers and the firm's partners are always receptive to feedback and give great guidance. Couldn't have asked for a better place to launch my career.
Cons
Because much of the work is policy-driven, rush projects can come up with little notice in response to action on the Hill or in the executive branch. That said, management does their best to ensure that work is allocated evenly -- and, in my experience, colleagues are always happy to pitch in.
