Pros

It is an actual job They pay what they say they will.

Cons

One time a guy was asked to help in another department and promised an extra bump in pay for it. He was never given the extra bump so he quit. Great employee, we really needed him when he left. Another employee was berated for supporting black lives matter and reasonable marijuana laws by a direct supervisor. This was IMMEDIETLY after the employee had gotten word that his aunt had been taken off of a ventilator and died of covid, and he had notified the manager. The employee filed for bereavement pay and was denied it for the time off to grieve. About a month later, the supervisor had the audacity to ask the employee, "how's your aunt doing?" There are so many horrible, two-faced people above the hardest working, lowest-paid warehouse workers. Poor-quality equipment and not enough supplies causes a loss of productivity and time, but management just blames the employees for using too much downtime. One employee was told by HR to put down the extra time it takes, but management wants to dictate how much time everyone should take to perform tasks and put down what they say it should take. They're really shooting the company in the foot, but the family that owns the business doesn't seem to care at all. They gave us a measly 25 dollars a week of hazard pay for covid. Many employees spend more than that on gas every week. They relaxed all of their covid restrictions in the warehouse during some of the worst surges in our county They stopped doing temp checks on employees for two weeks in the fall on one of the shifts, until an employee contacted HR. The manager just didn't feel like doing it anymore. Not enough pay for what they ask of low-level employees Management only concerned with saving money by neglecting equipment and facility Management attacks low-level employees to cover themselves for being incompetent underlings of a reckless, cheapskate family Management takes criticism as an attack on their intelligence One of the owners once came in to use adhesive product we carried to fix a pair of shoes that were obviously decades old. This company is a really good example of how trickle down economics ACTUALLY works, the capitalist's cheapness and terrible, old ideas are the only thing trickling down to the people working the hardest. Don't work here. Never do business with them. Anytime I bring them up to anyone who has happened to do business with them, they always have a story about how Kimball Midwest screwed them over. There's a lot of good people, but the management and owners are way behind the times and II don't think they look at warehouse employees as humans.
