Pros
Gives a person interested in education a step in the door. They offer CDA classes for those interested to learn. And, you can also get a transfer to a different branch out of state if you are looking to relocate.
Cons
40 hours with 1-3 year olds all year-round is very taxing. There are not a lot of scheduled breaks or holidays. Teacher-student ratio is 2:12 or 2:14 depending on the state, and there are no aides or floaters or an additional teacher help out. Children are transitioned / moved to another class within the day to ensure labor hours are kept to a minimum. It is difficult to receive salary increases, compensation could really be better.
