Pros

1) They are always hiring, so it is pretty easy to get a job here. 2) They train you well. 3) You get a discount on regular-priced items. 4) You get a 25% discount in the Little Caesar's restaurant (if there is one in your K-Mart). 5) The coworkers are easy to get along and fun to work with, so you make friends. 6) The management at the one I work at is awesome. 7) The dress code is not too strict (pretty much any kind of solid blue shirt with sleeves, black pants, black socks, and black closed shoes). 8) On some days, you get to do different tasks during your shift. 9) You get breaks every couple of hours or so. 10) They are good to work around your school or college schedule. 11) They will give you time off if you put in for it plenty of time (at least 2 weeks) in advance. 12) Most customers are nice.

Cons

NUMBERS: 1) They will constantly stay on your case about how many Shop Your Way Rewards enrollments, Smart Plans, Credit Card applications you sign people up for (especially the first two). Workers are expected to get an X amount of S.Y.W.R. sign-ups each day and with this new rule ("Do not enroll people without their email address") that isn't going to happen. 2) This isn't the place to work if you're a quiet person. You have to ask each customer all these questions (about S.Y.W.R., Smart Plans, donations, birth dates on a lot of the items, and e-receipts). REGISTERS: 3) Prices don't ring up right half the time, so you have to override every other item. A lot of times, you have to get a manager to do it. Many times the customers tell you that an item is supposed to be this price instead of that one, and you have to get a price check on the item before doing anything else, which can take a while. 4) The registers are old, so they tend to freeze up. SCHEDULING AND HOURS: 5) The scheduling is weird. They expect you to clock out right at the end of your shift, and if you are the only person on duty in your department at the time that isn't going to happen. 6) It is not unusual for hours to be cut (I am only working one day, sometimes two days a week if anytime during the week). 7) You have to work late at night, weekends, and holidays (except Christmas Day) - but that is typical with most jobs. 8) During the holidays, it can be rough (staying late one night then opening the next morning). 9) It is not unusual for them to be shorthanded. MISCELLANEOUS: 10) The discount can't be used on sale items, and it is only 10% (enough to take the tax off where I live). 11) Sometimes you get rude customers - again, that is typical with most jobs. 5)

Pros

Everything was a pro. That place was awesome to work for!

Cons

The only con is that is no longer a store in our community. Sadly, it went out of business.
