Pros

Maternity Leave and Sickness Policies

Cons

The Party as a whole is lost and confused, they are not sure what direction they are heading in which results in teams not working well together as everyone is out for themselves. There is no culture, no feeling of community as no one supports each other, which makes the London office feel very hostile and cold. Issues are pushed under the carpet and only dealt with once they are on the verge of exploding, which then causes further and unnecessary disruption in that specific team. The only sense of community is the social club, whom work hard to inject some sense of humor and energy into the party. I personally had no induction, didn’t have an exit interview and wasn’t even given a handbook. unfortunately, this is a running theme throughout the party. I also had no hand over from the previous person, my advice was to just shadow another team member and learn from your mistakes, which if you pride yourself on your work or are remotely passionate about your area of work, is incredibly frustrating. There is no leadership from senior members of managements which results in lack of direction for the entire party. The HR Team is barely functioning which is shocking considering how instrumental a HR team should be. They have no accountability, documents frequently get lost, emails are not answered, and they are hard to find and speak too. There is also no HR strategy or a real HR presence. Teams have no guidance regarding anything HR related, for example no help for inductions, no welcome pack, there are no document/how to guides for important processes which negatively affects wider teams. The party are always trying to cut corners and a great example of this is that people get over promoted to save costs of recruiting externally. This has a real effect on the party as it means people with little to no experience get put in senior positions which results in them struggling to fulfill their new role and also creates resentment from longer standing members of the teams. Then once they are in the new position there is no support or guidance to help their transition which all contributes in how unorganized and dysfunctional this party has become. There is no recognition or acknowledgment for the work that is being done. Senior managers and directors take take take and offer nothing in return except covering an overpriced Christmas party that resembled a primary school lunch. If you have sense of pride about your work avoid the London HQ at all costs. Maybe different in other regions but the London HQ was disappointing to say the least.
