I had a great senior sysadmin colleague

Poor salaries, slim potential for personal growth, three managers for one worker (all taking different decisions about my schedule), nosy secretary, lots of invasion in private life, demanding extras without compensation (on valentine's day!). Pretty racist environment (even for a French company), the only cool RnD project I was on, I was supposed to write documentation instead of making real advances, because producing documentations on green IT allowed them to have tax cuts. The tech is old, they struggle to get new things going, no innovation, no devops culture (but yeah I had to do devops stuff and programming on a techie's pay), but sure the president has à shiny new sports car. And had to listen to his brother's burble although he is no techie, and make it align with the other manager's burble, although still doing the third manager's tasks. Burned out in 6 months but they wouldn't have the decency of firing me, so I couldn't get a few months of state support to get back on my feet - the secretary openly saying it was because to her, foreigners are not welcome to get state help. Got back on my feet and got an engineering job in Switzerland, just to let you understand that I'm not a slacker. Avoid this company
