Pros
I can't speak for the school or the residential units, but I think the summer camp is great. It was a good entry-level job for someone in mental health/special ed. You get to hang out and play games and sports with adolescent boys, go on field trips, enjoy the outdoors. Lad Lake has a beautiful campus with a private beach, fishing piers, and trails that we took kids on. The management staff made the experience very enjoyable for everyone, and they were supportive and helpful to staff.
Cons
You'll encounter behavioral challenges in campers that run from mild to severe. Your success hinges on your fellow camp counselors- if you have a good team everything works well. If you don't, it'll be more difficult.
