The team is collaborative, and there's a real sense of camaraderie. Everyone is approachable, and teamwork is truly valued. The leadership team is transparent and genuinely cares about the well-being of its employees. Leadership also understands the importance of work-life balance and does its best to support staff in the context of a 24/7 facility. The County offers competitive compensation and attractive benefits, making it clear that they value their employees' contributions. Staff regularly participates in community service initiatives, fostering a sense of purpose and giving back to the community. I highly recommend the Lancaster County Prison to anyone seeking a positive and supportive work environment. The building, while the historic façade is interesting, does not serve the needs of the community. A new facility is planned.

Decent pay and sub par benefits

Union is in bed with the warden and admin staff. HR cannot perform their job at the entry level. Senior union members cook the overtime book. AFSCME won’t support you if your job depends on it. And the whole place has more drama than a teenage girls social group.
