Pros
Work/life balance exists but be careful. Favouritism is over the top here. If you're one of the liked, you will do well regardless of performance. If you are unambitious you may survive here. Few good people work here. Location. Laid-back corporate atmosphere
Cons
Friends and cliques exist and if you dont agree with them or upset a certain group of friends you are targeted and pushed out. Promotions are given to people that are liked, and most of the time not at all high performers. The company has begun giving recognition to staff who are known to be extremely poor team players. Many spend time on the phone and social media - passing off work to others. The overall work ethic is low. It's difficult to stay motivated. Staying late is discouraged. The bare minimum is appreciated. Extra work is optional because it's not recognized or paid. Some people are bitter towards the company - counting down the days to retirement. Manager was very inconsistent and wishy washy. Recently on some kind of power trip. It is clear she does not understand her authority or can handle herself in situations where escalation was needed. Manager is focused on pleasing her friends rather than entire team. Manager will throw you under the bus before admitting fault. Manager would rather listen and empathize than do anything to help you. Manager is constantly gossiping about other employees - including those working her own team. Manager forms her entire job and decisionmaking around her own subjectivity - unable to be objective, confidential or interpret applicable existing company policies. You are penalised for using certain HR policies. Some people have issues with diversity here. Bullying exists here and it's not dealt with appropriately. No room for growth.
