Pros
- The intent to make employees shine and have positive impact - Positivity meetings to engage employees and contractors to pursue goals - Worked with some smart team members, clients and managers - Lunch and learn experts come in and talk about their challenges or perspectives in their industry
Cons
- No real goal or direction. It is essentially a staffing agency start up. It has no distinguishable traits or differentiating business models that make it an attractive alternative to agencies that have existed for far longer - The leaders often grand stand inwards and outwards, portraying the importance of the company in which benefits no one but themselves. They essentially like to hear themselves talk while everyone else listens. Its evident in meetings when people have no questions or comments at the end of these meetings. Eg. Publicly announce a company trip via social media for all employees to do remote work at a nice location then cancel the trip 3+ times with no real definitive plan. Counting your eggs before they hatch - The illusion of choice. You are told there are many options to choose between the type of work you do and the people you work with, but in reality there are only a handful of clients, sometimes you only have 1-2 options and its either sink or swim. You either get a good client or a bad client. You really don't know what you're getting into - No reliability on job security - No prospects of leveling up your position cause this isn't that type of company - The need for specialists or experimental roles to solve their operational failures and guise them behind new positions to grow your career, often times stressing or overburdening a person with a large work load with little gains - You get no benefits, RSU or bonuses if you take the contractor approach. This is the most common type of employment they provide to everyone they staff and they push you towards this type - Mostly male dominated company, diversity is not a priority.
