Pros

Some staff are really here for the clients & the clients are all really great kids who just need adequate support & accountability to succeed.

Cons

If you’re not a part of the clique that supports & participates in bashing clients, violating HIPAA by using their names & information in text messages, lacking overall professionalism, & failing to develop programming to actually set the clients up for success, you’re asking to be targeted. Staff are put in positions to lie about the success of the program to portray an image for the public & for licensing. There is severe lack of training for all staff to implement adequate trauma-informed care. Very queerphobic, ableist, & racist space to work in. I’ve experienced inappropriate sexual behaviors from multiple staff both towards me, about me when I’m not there, & about other staff. It’s one thing from the kids (they’re teenagers & I hold myself accountable in setting solid boundaries), but it’s a whole problem to have it come from staff with absolutely no discretion. No boundaries between staff & clients from unnecessary touching to inappropriate language. I’ve attempted to bring these observations to management & even their bosses with no response & no accountability whatsoever. I’ve been in social work for years now & this is by far the worst program & organization that I’ve ever known. This program really should be shut down or bring in a third-party consultant for review. These kids deserve so much better.

Pros

There is so much support in the classroom and on the campus. I enjoyed my two years there and have learned so much about the field. The students are a joy to work with and it was great connecting and working with them.

Cons

I have gotten scratched, slapped, and my hair pulled. There can be so serious injuries depending on the students severeness. However, you learn to always be aware and alert. Things can happen in a split second, so you always got to be on your toes.

Pros

Get to form bonds with kids. If teaching and kids is your passion then you will be happy. Weekends and holidays off. On a school schedule.

Cons

Supervising team is not the best right now. A lot of good people are leaving due to management. Once changes in the higher up are made, this place will be better again.
