While leadership is comprised of well-intentioned, competent people, there's a significant disconnect between leadership/decision-makers and the "frontlines." The firm tends to look externally rather than promoting from within. (Again, this may be due to the disconnect between hiring/HR and the actual work.) Ultimately, the firm tends to undervalue its consultant and researcher employees, paying well below industry averages and being slow to promote (i.e., raises and/or title advancements) SMEs and high performers. I know that this frustration is shared by many employees. Some have left because of it.
