Pros

Pay - at or above the average salary for a software engineer PTO - unlimited (for software roles at least) Schedule - entire company operates on a 9/80 schedule where 9 days (over 2 weeks) are worked as 9 hour days, and every other Friday is off

Cons

Popularity - success at this company is greatly influenced by who you know and how well you get along with those above you Koolaid - Liberty has a "frat" culture where drinking (at company events or even at lunch) is encouraged, and if you don't fit that mold, others are sure to notice Direction - the software development effort is very fledgling. In part due to a senile industry and shackled by software they use from other company acquisitions, development is slow, buggy, and not clearly directed.

Pros

My peers were mostly pleasant to work with.

Cons

Liberty Energy does not care about its employees. Despite the facade of a 'people-first' company, Liberty treats you as nothing more than a number in a spreadsheet. The HR department is the worst I've ever dealt with, offering absolutely no help to employees. I was terminated, without warning or so much as a word from HR, for a supposed policy violation that didn't actually exist. No chance to understand more. No chance to explain or provide documentation. Just my manager telling me to leave the premises immediately. I was a vital member of one of the company's most prioritized projects, and had done nothing but perform responsibilities above and beyond what my paygrade or job description expected of me. Despite this, they disposed of me without me understanding why or how they legally had a basis to. Do not fall for their selling points; Liberty Energy couldn't care less about you.
