      * Relatively relaxed job *Most of the staff are nice. *Can feel good giving back.

      Cons

      * Micromanagers. Some managers have numerous complaints against them and HR do nothing. *Awful salary. Not enough to live on. *Lack of opportunities. *Lack of creativity. Lots of red tape. *If you dont like working with the public, dont do this job.

      Pros

      Most front-line staff are good to work with. There is great pleasure in work that isn't designed to make someone else a profit.

      Cons

      CEO, board and management operate completely on private sector logic. Too much money spent on agency which could be used to build permanent careers and strengthen the service. Management is extremely difficult to work with. There is an endemic of 40-60% of of branch managers and above being off with "Stress" at any given time. Usually for up to six months.
