Pros

There is nothing good about this place

Cons

I think I could spend all day saying how bad this company is, so let’s start with Covid. Lifetime made most of its employees furlough (receiving 80% of their salary from the Gov), knowing how hard it would be to find new jobs, they made this who were NOT made furlough work at a REDUCED SALARY AND HOURS, meaning that those working twice as hard or even more, were getting paid 80% if their salary while other employees were at home doing nothing and also getting the same 80%. They justified that by means of protecting the company and that the effort made was for the greater good and etc... they also gave members of the same teams different reduced hours meaning that the same team was working not only reduced hours, but also with less people everyday as those employees would have different days off. When things started to get better, they kept the promise of salary going back to normal and that promise came together with: let’s make around 700 people unemployed even before the benefit from the government (the furlough scheme) is over. Those people that worked hard at a reduced salary were then suffering the risk of being made redundant. Ridiculous! I ever heard from some of the management “working at 80% is fine that now I am not going to pubs so I am saving money” as if people didn’t have other bills to pay or commitments. This company has no progression whatsoever, I believe some low paid people have to way more qualifications than managers and high up people. Everything in this company does not work, hence they are closing down the commercial department. Avoid at all costs, would probably have a better Work x life balance working anywhere else.

Firstly I would like to acknowledge what an exceptionally difficult time this has obviously been for you. I understand that you have been left feeling stressed and unhappy as a result of the Covid-19 situation and about some of the measures that the company had to take. However, the measures that were put in place were as a result of an unprecedented global situation and Lifetime was in a position, like many companies, where we had to make essential changes to keep the business functioning and ensure that our people were able to retain their roles during this difficult time. We decided to make full use of the Government’s job retention scheme to ensure that we did not have to make anyone redundant whilst lockdown measures were in place. We also had to make difficult decisions about how we delivered our service as safely as possible which included introducing home working and the situation you have referenced to above whereby some people were furloughed completely whilst others remained essential to the business function, continuing to work in line with business demands and on reduced hours and reduced pay. As you can imagine, following the lockdown, the business was affected and we did have to make a number of redundancies. The reasons behind this very difficult decision was clearly communicated by our CEO. A redundancy scheme was implemented to ensure compensation was given to those affected whilst they sought work elsewhere. You have also mentioned some issues that were outside of the current situation such as work/life balance and progression and I am sorry to hear that you did not access what we have in place to support these areas such as our wellbeing platform, Lifeline, our Employee Assistance programmes and our Journey of a Lifetime and Career Pathway development plans. I do hope that you secure alternative employment and are able to find a company and role that meets your needs.

Commissions are ridiculously low. Be prepared to not make a lot your first 3 month. Only good if you’re a student
