Pros

Fully remote work and some good friendships

Cons

**BEWARE** I used to be a long term employee at LiveCA, but am no longer. It was my choice to leave, and I am thankful I did. Do not work here unless you enjoy the following: - being over worked (prepare to work 50+ hours a week, without pay or appreciation) - being thrown under multiple buses just to save face with the horrible clients LiveCA chooses to work with (management will have no problem blaming their employees for their own mistakes just to keep clients happy and make themselves look better) - wearing multiple hats without compensation or appreciation (prepare to be 24/7 customer support, bookkeeper, AP/AR, accountant, payroll, management, and just an overall punching bag for clients) - not being compensated fairly = compensation is crap ("here, have 10 + additional files even through you are at your work limits, oh and HEY here is no compensation for your hard work") - not being able to say what you honestly feel. Do not say (politely) NO to LiveCA because they will take that as you saying YES or they will just fire you without any cause because you cannot "handle" the workload - not being able to stick up for yourself or others (LiveCA has been letting people go who stick up for themselves and set work boundaries that they do not respect) - no room for growth (unless you are wanting to become a CPA, don't expect any room for growth) - not having the support you need (LiveCA pretends they offer support when in reality there is too much work and not enough (reliable) employees to actually give the support you need) - love secrets? You will fit right in! (Back in the day everything used to be so open and honest. Recently, everything has been a secret... it became hard to a) keep up with all the secrets and lies: who we could tell, who wasn't suppose to know. b) nothing was told to us so everything became gaslight and blindsided. I caught LiveCA in many lies throughout the years... not a good image) - ignoring emails and phone calls from clients (if they do not want to deal with it, they blame the spam folder) - horrible benefits and compensation (no retirement savings plan or real incentive to stick around for long term. But hey, get a glowing annual review because of your hard work and in exchange your annual compensation is nickels) - short term (LiveCA seems to love to hire new people but can't keep them to stay) - never going on maternity or parental leave (LiveCA has been letting people go once they come back from maternity leave if they aren't able to work FT hours at the moment) - OUTSOURCING WORK AND NOT TELLING THEIR CLIENTS (LiveCA has outsourced their departments but it was known firm wide that this was not suppose to be known to our clients - if you have a conscious, prepare to let that go out the window) - anxiety and crippling decline of your mental wellbeing The list can go on and on but please take this into consideration before signing any of their paperwork. This is coming from real life experience and not because I was let go or fired!

Pros

I had a wonderful experience working for LiveCA over my 7+ years there. From the start I felt like I was treated like a valued part of the team. I was giving growth opportunities within the company to push my professional development, and I wouldn't be in my current role without the experience LiveCA provided. I had two WONDERFUL managers during my time there - I had never felt so supported at work. The team is engaged and committed to doing great work. The company as a whole is incredibly supportive and collaborative.

Cons

During my tenure there were some difficult times with the pandemic, economic stressors, and employee turnover. However, I ultimately always felt like the leadership team was trying to get it right, improve the workplace, and support the team.
