Pros

It's a stable firm organized in relatively small, independent practice groups. Clients are usually large institutions so the work often involves serving an in-house lawyer. Generally, lawyers are smart and slightly nerdy but polite. Your experience will depend on the partner(s) to whom you report (and how many). It's a pleasant place overall. Looks great on the resume when you leave.

Cons

The firm seems to approach the practice of law from a very conservative position. Politics among partners is a factor but behind the scenes. Sometimes it seems as if a bunch of sole practitioners are sharing space and resources. Bonuses seem modest compared to other firms of this size. It's not great at diversity (although there are openly gay male partners).

Smart people. Small categorical team. Non pretentious. Good hybrid schedule. Great clients and transaction deals. Decent enough salary and bonus combined with nice people makes you want to stay long term.

Cons

None that I could think of
