Pros
It was very satisfying helping elderly with daily living tasks. I thoroughly enjoyed my job and I looked forward to each visit with my clients.
Cons
Had to drive my own car to clients homes with no mileage reimbursement. Went to one client then home for a couple hours then to another client.
Pros
Working ...THAT WAS THE ONLY POSITIVE. I WAS ABLE TO WORK, needed work, and this area is SO TERRIBLE, THAT YOU ARE VERY HARDPRESSED TO FIND ANY WORK TO BEGIN WITH, THUS MAKING FOR A VERY DIFFICULT AREA EVEN TO FIND GOOD EMPLOYERS.
Cons
NO PAY, WHEN YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GET PAID, HAD TO FIGHT FOR PAY, HAD TO BEG TO GET YOUR CORRECT HOURS, I WORKED DOUBLE SHIFTS, WEEKENDS , HOLIDAYS, NIGHTS, EARLY MORNING, AFTERNOON. I STAYED WHEN OTHERS WOULD NOT SHOW UP AND WORKED THE ENTIRE WEEKEND OF THE FOURTH OF JULY, ONLY TO BE JERKED AROUND AGAIN TO GET MY PAY! THE WOMAN HERE HAS CONTRACTS THROUGH SOME PEOPLE SHE HAS GOTTEN TO KNOW IN THIS COUNTY, THE ONLY REASON SHE IS STILL IN BUSINESS, they do not pay squat! And even when you think you are going to get somewhere, guess again, because they will hand you a check , then offer to take it back and change it if you don't like the amount that is on it, Only it will take forever to get paid, and when you don't have much to begin with, what the heck are you supposed to live on! See? The area, does not pay well to begin with, but broken promises, that is another matter entirely. They lost more than 14 employees in a very short time, while I was there, later, I was in the local Post Office, where I ran into the office manager, she told me she quit and she felt sorry for me and all the other girls because she knew we were all being cheated out of pay!!!!!! watch OUT!!!!!! Do not go here! You are better off going UP to the HOspial there and offering your services on to someone coming home from the hospital who would need your help! On top of the first problem affiliated with this company, the second problem was made clear to me also, that people had their MEDICATION MISSING AT SITES ON THE JOB, BECAUSE THE NICE LADY I WAS TAKING CARE OF HAD A VERY honest professional and proactive daughter, who was hyper-vigilant ....she expressed to me her concerns and why she felt her Mom was better off in my care, but that the girls that were there from Haiti and other countries, ( I had no idea, as this happened before I came on to work there) well she told me they were there and that they were accused of stealing her Mom's things and her meds!!!! Huge issue with Lori's Angels! I loved my client, as she was the nicest lady in the world, this patient, her Mother, was too. I shall never forget it, I did her hair, I cared for her as if she were my own Mom, and frankly , I still think about those people, I truly enjoyed working with her, that was never the problem, in fact, not getting paid broke my heart because I had to leave and could not be with those people after. I offered my services to them, and they wanted them, later, but Lori's Angels has you in a contract, so you cannot. Watch out.
Pros
The clients thats about it.
Cons
No raises, no compassion for employees or clients, no benefits unless you work fulltime, do any shift they tell you to, even without notice, your basically oncall. You can't refuse for any reason or you lose benefits.
