Pros
I don't have much to say about the company or the culture, but I can say that there was select individuals who did make my experience worthwhile. There were certain people who went to bat for me and were willing to mentor me, and for them, I express my gratitude.
Cons
Lucid talks like they have the greatest culture ever, but I have never been part of a more toxic sales team and it all comes from the front line managers, the directors, and the VP's. The past 18 months have been incredibly difficult to sell in as most SaaS companies have experienced. However, rather than "leading with empathy" like they constantly preached, there was always discussion about how bad we we're performing and how that needs to improve. It's a necessary discussion to have, but it was done with anything but empathy, sympathy, and mutual understanding. Furthermore, sales leadership always demanded more, but they never provided any solutions, trainings, or quality 1 on 1 time to improve the desired metrics. Training sessions were nothing more than role plays and presentations. Trainings should have consisted of recorded call reviews, managers joining live calls and providing constructive feedback, and team training sessions to applaud what someone has done well. This NEVER happened despite my suggestions. The closest thing we ever got was people sharing best practices. The best suggestions that. management and leaders ever had was to make more calls, send more emails, and then send your manager and end of day report with your activity metrics even though they can easily see it in salesforce. The toxicity mainly came from my manager who never grasped the concept of proper encouragement, constructive feedback, and creating mutual goals for building success and being accountable to them. And of course you can't blame just him because the Director put that on him and it just went down the line. Also, this company his a high percentage of pacific islanders and other asian people working for the company. There is no problem with this whatsoever except for the fact that if you're not one of those, you're automatically an outcast. Many of the people who fit this category will never get let go for poor performance because their race and class protects. This culture will not let go one of their own. I was laid when they decided to let go of people from the sales staff. I performed at the exact same rate and quota attainment as other pacific islanders and they did not suffer the same consequence I did. Just be prepared to see this class of people running the show if you join this company.
