Pros
Training in London was fun...
Cons
The most toxic work environment I have ever been a part of. Completely disorganized - senior management has no pulse of the market and no sense of direction of where to take the product. Meanwhile the rest of the market for Legal AI tools has caught up. Competitors are doing more for less while Luminance is spinning its wheels with a bad product and unrealistic pricing. Management has set unrealistic targets for its sales team, resulting in poor performance across the board, especially in the US. US reps also have significantly less opportunity than reps based in the UK. UK reps can prospect globally and are regularly entrusted with the large US opportunities that come inbound, leaving the large and ever-expanding US team to fight over the scraps. On top of this, even when you do get a customer across the line, customer success is an absolute mess. Commission structure is a retainment trap. They hold 50% of your commission until the 1-year anniversary. Turnover is very high as people realize quickly what direction this company is headed. I honestly believe this space is exiting and interesting, but I'd warn anyone to think twice before jumping on this ship. Plenty of other healthy startups in the space that are well funded and well positioned.
