Good people, good work life balance, poor governance and hit and miss leadership - Manager Luminor Bank Employee Review

Pros

Mostly good, kind and professional people. Good work life balance. Good pay for the industry. OK internal career opportunities for juniors and middle management. Many opportunities to fix basics, turn things around and add a lot of value with simple projects.

Cons

IT and tech was in shambles from 2019-2023. Literally zero governance. High employee attrition. Culture of fear. Previous CEO and c-suite could not stand employees who asked difficult questions in public forums, to the point where HR felt free to openly say multiple times that employees like that will have no further career opportunities. Previous CEO's strategy and leadership was wishful thinking that you can prioritize everything, setting ambitious growth KPIs without a plan or investment, hoping that IT would magically fix itself with no plan, and publicly airing his conflicts with investors. Current new CEO seems to be better. Poor diversity and inclusion with only basic female leadership activities. Senior management and HR were hit and miss: half were good and professional, yet many others without the requisite experience, clearly incompetent and avoided responsibility and making decisions.
