Pros
I loved my team. Really great people to work with. It did pay well.
Cons
I was offered the job with the promise that my role would have a direct impact on company growth. I quickly learned that I was not allowed to do my job, because our C level micromanaged everything. Literally nothing ever got done, because he would not approve anything, or allow managers to do their jobs and approve projects. Everything had to be “perfect” before a project could ship. However, expectations were never communicated, so while everyone tried hard to achieve perfection, it was always a shot in the dark. Additionally, he would blame others for his mistakes and was often very condescending. Massive ego! While I was at Lumio, my department never once held an all hands meeting. I never knew what our goals were, or what each team was working on. Funny thing is- they sell solar panels. But I never learned a thing about them because the focus was always all over the place, and mostly on side projects. The company went through layoffs, which affected me. Before I got laid off, there was so much tension and stress in the office. Everyone was afraid they were next. While I was still there, I never heard a word from the CEO or HR regarding the layoffs. No transparency. No reassurance. Literally nothing. I wrote an email to HR to express my concern, and asked if they or the executives could address what was going on. I never even got a response. And then I got laid off a few days later. I would never recommend Lumio to anyone.
