Pros
The people in my department are the best I've ever worked with. A great team that really is collaborative and always willing to help.
The benefits provided by/available through the county are the best I've ever had through an employer. The health insurance is offered through Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, and is not only very comprehensive but EXTREMELY affordable. It's the least expensive health insurance I've ever had, and my deductible is LOW. In 2022 that's more important than ever. I've had employers offer 104Ks before, but I've never had a pension before. They're virtually unheard of this day and age.
Cons
The salary could be better; but I could have a higher salary elsewhere and wind up taking home less because of the cost of insurance through other employers. It's a fair trade, and I love my job.
