Pros

The coaching you get is excellent and really supportive.

Cons

Communication from management is poor. There's a significant discrepancy (5+ per week) between the number of hours you are contracted for and the time you must to be clocked in and camera on doing self study. You are chased if you haven't clocked in.

Makers Response

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re really pleased to hear that the coaching support made a positive difference for you. Developing people is at the heart of what we do at Makers, so it means a lot to know that part of your journey felt strong. You mentioned concerns about contracted hours and expectations during the initial training period. A cohort raised similar questions earlier this year, which prompted us to take a thorough look at the timetable and the working pattern. After reviewing this with external guidance, we made an additional payment to ensure the group had complete clarity around National Minimum Wage compliance. We also updated the timetable so that scheduled hours are now fully aligned with the contracted hours. Clocking in during training is part of how we support learner engagement and track progress, but we’ve taken steps to make the expectations around this clearer and aligned with the new timetable and working pattern. Feedback like yours helps us continue to improve, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it.
