Pros
Working with the Clients was the only beneficial part of the job. Your client you work for will actually take better care of you than the Managed Lab will.
Cons
My advice is to have HR with you to verify what is being said and done to you. On many occasions, I was told false information regarding salary and titles by my manager. They don’t value employees based on merit, experience, or education. My manager gave me all 5s on my review with no raise, promotion, or even an explanation. Coming in, I had a degree and over 4 years of experience including benchwork but was told I only qualify for entry level salary, which FYI isn’t anything significantly over MINIMUM WAGE. When I tried negotiating for a higher starting salary based on my past experience, I was told that they had already signed a contract with the client for me and it was set in stone... can you smell a lie? I hadn’t even signed anything with the Managed Labs yet to accept... CEO Taylor Moyer is the worst, she claims her company values are to “do the right thing”....(for herself), has an open door and values transparency, but if you ever ask for advice, don’t expect a response. Instead, she will go behind your back and actually work against you. I was told straight to my face by Taylor that she knows everyone in biotech so best not leave a bad impression with her, and to be honest that felt like a complete threat by her to blemish my career. This company advertises itself as a “great place to get into the industry” but it actually isn’t, you will be better off getting an internship that pays because you will actually learn lab techniques. I was introduced to a scientist and was told she was a success story with managed labs, it was not until I was about to leave this company I finally realized that her success was to escape the company. With Managed Labs, they frown on employees taking on scientific roles with their clients, so all in all how is that a great place to get into the industry when you are barred from even learning. So unless you want to become an expert glorified janitor, you’ll have better luck elsewhere..
