Team Atmosphere: Depending on your team, you might find your coworkers friendly and supportive, which can make the workday a little more bearable.

Sadly this goes out to part-timers as well. 1) Terrible Work-Life Balance: The retail hours are brutal. Expect to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, and it can really eat into your personal life. You’ll feel like you live for the job rather than having a life outside of it. 2) Low Pay for the Work: The pay is pretty low, especially for the amount of work you’re expected to do. Many employees feel underpaid for the responsibilities they have. 3) Toxic Management: Depending on your store or department, management can be disorganized, overly demanding, and sometimes downright frustrating. There’s little room for error, and the blame usually falls on the employees rather than upper management. 4) Lack of Recognition and Appreciation: Despite the considerable effort that many employees put into their roles, there is often a perceived lack of recognition from the company. Employees report that their hard work is frequently overlooked, and acknowledgment for going above and beyond is rare. This lack of appreciation can contribute to a negative work atmosphere and may result in high employee turnover, as individuals seek more fulfilling and rewarding roles elsewhere. 5) High Employee Turnover: Retail positions at Mango tend to have a high turnover rate. Many employees leave after a short period, often due to dissatisfaction with the work conditions, compensation, or career prospects. This constant turnover can lead to instability within teams, which in turn can affect the overall morale and productivity of the workplace. Remaining employees may be required to take on additional responsibilities as a result of the frequent departures, further contributing to stress. 6) Unrealistic Expectations: There is often a disconnect between what upper management expects and the reality of what employees can deliver. Some employees feel that the expectations placed on them are unrealistic, particularly when it comes to sales targets or performance metrics. Managers may not fully understand the difficulties involved in customer-facing roles, and as a result, employees may feel that their efforts are undervalued or not taken into consideration. Unfortunately, this unfair treatment also extends to part-timers. We're paid poorly, yet the workload and expectations placed on us are the same as full-timers. It feels incredibly unjust, as we’re expected to perform at the same level without receiving the same compensation or benefits. Over time, the company has only gotten worse, largely due to HR and management's unrealistic expectations. To make matters worse, part-timers are often excluded from company events like dinners, which are reserved only for the management team. This is not only frustrating but also incredibly unfair, as it further highlights the lack of value placed on part-time staff.

Competitive pay range, ability to be promoted quickly

Cons

Unprofessional management from district manager level up to regional team. No support in achieving business metrics. Unachievable sales targets, based on no market research. No accountability from anyone. All blame for store business is put onto store manager.
