Marathon is wanting to become another health corporation. In the last couple of years, they have become very heavy at the top but have failed to provide the support to the “ambassadors” facing the patients. They want to do more with fewer people in the positions that matter and that has affected the morale.
As soon as the financial company took over, they took a different direction. They reduced the benefits that made them a great company to work for. Nowadays, you could find similar benefits or better benefits working for other companies, compensation would also be better.
Leadership in the department has been in decline since last year, they made everything more difficult, and simple processes became complicated. There was a lot of confusion in the team regarding processes and insurance, and leadership failed to provide clear guidance about it. All reliable information usually came from the more experienced team members.
On top of that, the same leadership that does not provide support to the team is the one that will ask you to “step up” to help. Which means that you are having to work your regular job in addition to all the other roles that they assign to you, without fair compensation for performing those roles.
