Pros

I love working for this company. I started with this company 10 years ago, and from the first day i knew this was the job for me. I love a challenge, and everyday i learnt something knew, and that is still the case to this day. I am generally not one to get involved in pety disputes however after coming across this site and some of the Market America reviews i felt i just had to have my say, my personal and honest opinion on a few of the ridiculous topics here. One is that you cannot take leave at times revolving around events, which mind you, there are only 2 a year so lets not be dramatic - yes if this is your departments responsibility then of course it is requested you are there, thats like telling retail staff they can take leave over christmas - AT THEIR BUSIEST TIME.. Not.. gonna.. happen.. this is every company so this reference to me does not solely apply to this company.. Secondly, that the management including the owners are horrible, abusive, and only respect famous stars or people on "their" level.. Now let me guess.. You got in trouble, for no doubt doing something wrong, and now management sucks? *sigh* I have worked with all management and love their work ethic, their management and persistence has made me cross trained in more departments that i could have ever dreamed of! If you are looking to be built into a leader, be taught to keep and maintain schedules, and learn how to always be 10 steps ahead of the game then this is the company for you.. Unfortunately not everyone will share the drive, so yes, it may not work out.. In regards to JR and Loren, I am no superstar.. Nor am i on 'their' level.. You could almost say i am on no level haha, yet i have come face to face with them multiple times and have found them to be the most down to earth, caring, and SMARTEST people i have ever met.. I am inspired by not only what they have built, but what they continue to build.. So apologies if at an event with 20,000 people they may have missed flicking you a personal wave :) This is a great company who value their loyal employees. If you are just looking for a pay check then maybe this is not the company for you. This company has morals, and most of all passion. Once you become an employee the possibilities are endless, they allow and encourage you to grow.. I started as a girl who did the mail, i now manage multiple departments #lifesgood

Cons

Cons; the company's enhancements increase so rapidly that i struggle to keep up.. Hang on.. is that really a con? ;)

Pros

Collegues coworkers are supportive, partly because we all suffer from executive toxicity.

Cons

The founder of the company had true vision and was a natural salesman, but his passing has exposed deep holes in leadership. While a few of the remaining executives were directly involved in starting the business and possessed the skillset for a startup environment, they are utterly inept at managing a large organization. Furthermore, nepotism renders the Peter Principle as obsolete; the preference is to start people at their level of incompetence on day one. This disconnect at the top trickles down to daily operations, particularly in hiring. Managers and directors are tasked with interviewing and choosing candidates, only to have unknown, disconnected executives—who possess zero knowledge about the chosen candidate—arbitrarily instruct them to "keep looking" even after a candidate has already proven themselves as a Market America employee. Operationally, there is no Change Management process in place. Sudden strategic pivots—sometimes unprompted by actual market conditions—are enacted with remarkably poor communication. Because departments are heavily siloed, these abrupt changes only compound the widespread confusion and inefficiency. Culturally, while a heavy focus on the customer is warranted, absolutely no thought is given to employee well-being or professional growth. Consequently, turnover in the departments that directly serve employees is constant. Even the employee recognition program strays far afield from Human Performance Improvement best-practices. While the winners often merit the accolade, the process itself is effectively a popularity contest heavily skewed by managerial influence. With over 20 years in the workforce across multiple organizations, I can confidently say this is the worst company I ever worked for.
