Pros
Work with major Fortune 500 clients and incredibly smart people. Develop great analytical skills. If lucky enough to have a good boss (one or two in the NYC office), opportunity to develop and practice real leadership skills. Learn what "resilience" really means.
Cons
Kiss your mental and physical health goodbye. All of the above “Pros” come at a high cost. Long hours and high stress, frequently driven by managers who refuse to say “no” or bill for additional resources needed to support clients operating outside the scope of their original service agreement.
Professional development/promotion track is non-existent due to work demands and hostile environment. The only "development" occurs when being degraded by a superior. Constructive criticism/feedback & interpersonal skills lack among the majority of managers/leaders. Being placed on a project with a solid manager/leader is rare.
Hiring process misleads individuals to believe MarketShare is a SaaS company, however it truly operates as a consulting services firm. This is somewhat driven by a product team whom doesn’t interact or request sufficient feedback from core product users to understand the inherent difficulty in using the product
