Pros

Pto 401 k medical, insurances

Cons

The company i signed on for was not the company I left. A complete shell of what it was. They used to care about employees. When I left i was doing the job of 3 people. The incompetency went from the bottom all the way to the top. They will continue to lose good employees as they hold on to the subpar ones and as they hold on to those subpar ones, those are the ones who end up moving up. I can see the cycle. People with sense find a way out. The metrics they use to evaluate performance have nothing to do with anything. You'll constantly be told you're not doing enough, even when you go above and beyond. All they care about is the credit card nothing else matters. The new generation of workers incoming think that their boss is supposed to gentle parent them. The entitlement and lack of motivation intrinsic is absolutely insane. They want to get paid to do nothing and complain about everything, no deductive reasoning no problem solving skills nothing. Obsessed with their cell phones, coming to work inebriated in flip flops. Can't or won't follow rules. Makes t things just that much more hard for those in leadership positions. Staffing is always tight most locations don't staff for potential call outs. And everyone calls out all the time because of all the aforementioned conditions. Low pay

Pros

The work is the same every day (at least for janitors), and you don't have many surprises. In my experience, there is a lot of leeway for who does what as long as it gets done. I don't personally mind helping out in all departments after I am done cleaning. Current store manager (not asms) is very nice and understanding.

Cons

The management (Assistant managers in my experience) is at each other's throats to be the best out there and suck up to the district manager. The pressure to coerce customers into buying into the TJX card is a bit much. It all trickles down to the front end, which then causes everyone to be unhappy. Compensation is low and raises are based on company loyalty first, then your efficiency.
