Pros

The customers were amazing people most of the time, some rude ones here and there but overall it was great having customers to talk to while ringing them on items. You don't really have to contribute much skill to the job, the younger co-workers are nice people and things move smoothly.

Cons

The bosses are dumb (highly uneducated), TJX Cards are promoted rather than speed and a high level customer experience (lets make profit people...speed and quality). older co-workers are nasty usually with an exception of a few, you wont get paid much either. Very organized structure with scheduling and a lot of breakroom politics in the back which shouldn't exist (YOU WORK AT MARSHALLS NOT A FORTUNE 500 COMPANY).

Pros

The work is the same every day (at least for janitors), and you don't have many surprises. In my experience, there is a lot of leeway for who does what as long as it gets done. I don't personally mind helping out in all departments after I am done cleaning. Current store manager (not asms) is very nice and understanding.

Cons

The management (Assistant managers in my experience) is at each other's throats to be the best out there and suck up to the district manager. The pressure to coerce customers into buying into the TJX card is a bit much. It all trickles down to the front end, which then causes everyone to be unhappy. Compensation is low and raises are based on company loyalty first, then your efficiency.
