Pros
Currently they are one of the few massage businesses that are hiring. Some flexibility with your schedule. Some Clients do tip decently which helps to offset low pay.
Cons
Very low pay for the level of work performed. Front desk staff is constantly pushing for high volume of Clients per shift even on Therapists who made it clear from the day they were hired that they can only work on so many per shift. Front desk staff NEVER listens to Therapists in regards to contraindications even though Therapists are the ones who are trained to make those calls. Therapists are forced to work on Clients who are clearly sick or are otherwise not eligible for massage at that time. Therapists who themselves are sick or injured are forced to come in and work on Clients even with the risk of making the Client sick or injuring themselves further. Massage Envy needs to get over pushing the concept of assembly line massage and start thinking along the lines of being a wellness center.
