Safe and comfortable, if uninspiring - Lead Designer Massive Entertainment Employee Review

Pros

Lots of flexibility and support for parents, very solid, In 6 years I've only seen one person get fired and it was after multiple warnings. Quite possible for interns and juniors to see rapid promotion.

Cons

Not the best salary in the area. Huge projects tend to make you feel like a small cog in a huge machine. Lots of Ubisoft politics at the upper levels. Career progression tends to hit a ceiling at the Senior or Lead level. The focus on huge IPs means that projects take a long time and have a lot of constraints and requirements from IP holders. Very slow iteration and structures that tend to silo teams. Not enough sharing between projects.

Pros

You will certainly have some great, memorial experiences working on some assignments like the Congressional Black Caucus party, other political events, and several movie/music events where you will meet very well-known people. The co-workers are amazing and from many different professional backgrounds. The pay is relatively high for each event. Of course the more high profile the event and the longer you have to work that assignment, the more you get paid. If you prove you're a great security officer and show initiative in wanting to work more, you will get more assignments as well as great references. If I were living in DC again, I'd work for them again in a heartbeat! If you are looking to gain experience in security, event management on a part-time/on call basis, as well as get great references & recommendations in the DMV area, this is a great place to get your foot in the door.

Cons

On call mostly, no benefits.
