Pros
Decent benefits, competitive pay, covered parking, free yoga, free bagels on Fridays, happy hours, no dress code, casual environment, the occasional free lunch, yearly bonuses, located in a decent area of university park with plenty of food options within walking distance. Some teams are better than others by leaps and bounds. It wouldn't surprise me if the reviews here are all over the map due to that reason alone. If you land on a good team, you'll be happy and generally stay unstressed. There are some decent managers floating around along with some incompetent ones. Luck of the draw will determine your fate at match. My 4 star rating indicates that I'm one of the luckier ones.
Cons
There are some completely inept people in leadership and management roles. Nepotism is rampant and I've seen people get put into senior roles without knowing some of the very basics. Some teams move extremely slowly and are bogged down with constant meetings. There are way too many stakeholders in some areas including people who have no right being so. Some extremely questionable decisions get called when leadership makes decisions based on their gut feelings instead of the data. The bathrooms are poorly maintained, the desks aren't so great, and good luck getting a standing desk or a good chair. The desks are arranged in these 4 desk cube like things with see through dividers...so it is as loud as an open office. Whoever set the office up was drunk because nothing is spaced out properly and it is impossible to find anyone. Commuting to this location can be a nightmare. No one can afford to live directly near the office since it's right next to some of the most affluent neighborhoods in DFW. The office formerly was further north in Richardson and there are rumors that they are considering moving back up north again, but nobody is sure. A newer building would be welcome. Once a year evaluations. This is NOT frequent enough. Evaluations should be done quarterly to motivate people.
