Pros

Helping people overcome addictions, generous benefits package, good pay, majority of co-workers are great and made coming to work fun. FT schedule means you work 3-days on with 4-days off.

Cons

Little training when you’re new-they rely on co-workers to train you and some do, some don’t. Turnover is high, partially due to the small town of Wickenburg being at least 40-45 minutes away from other major cities. 12 hour shifts and they’re always short-staffed so sometimes we’d have to work a 14-16 hour day depending on campus assigned and situations. There are 5 different campuses you can be assigned to work in Wickenburg, and although they tell you “we’re all the same”, they are all run somewhat differently, sometimes making it hard for someone new learning since each campus has their own way of doing things. When co-workers call out they sometimes cannot find anyone to cover the shift so you may be working alone.

Pros

The Meadows has a name for itself in the mental health field. The trainings continue to be great and you get exposure, and a lot of clinical training do set you up as a strong therapist. Aside from poor management, you get to meet some absolutely amazing coworkers.

Cons

There has been a transition with the Meadows in the previous year and the management at the campus I was at was absolutely terrible. A coworker went as far as filing an HR complaint with how they were treating the whole team, and dismantaling a strong team. HR interviewed multiple employees and all employees provided the same story of the mistreatment and HR did NOTHING. The caddiness, gaslighting, and evasion was absurd. The two directors at Gentle Path are extremely unprofessional and abusive. It's a sad scene knowing that the patients seek treatment for these exact behaviors and the directors are mirroring their mistreatment to the employees. The facility used to be top tier and these two individuals have managed to make GP a place that patients are no longer seeking due the lack of clinical knowledge/expertise. Stay as far away as possible from here if you value your own mental health.
