In your brief review, you raise two important points that I would like to address: work-life balance and leadership. To begin, Medallia’s production and support engineers are amazing. Simply put, these teams are responsible for delivering our services to millions of customers 24x7x365. They are truly heroes who keep Medallia running well through their diligent efforts. As we grow, it has become increasingly clear how critical their operational insight is to keep our product healthy. Their perspective and expertise guides Medallia Engineering as we continue to proactively invest in both our teams and technology. Over the past six months, we have been deliberately addressing work-life balance in several ways. First, we are growing our teams - bringing in both new engineers and new people managers. As you may know, we've been delighted to welcome several new team members already this year. Second, we are elevating leadership development through training and coaching. In fact, Medallia’s investment in training leaders not only spans the entire company, but is also the largest, most ambitious effort in that space in Medallia's history. Through this initiative, we aim to improve all of our managers’ abilities and, in turn, enable their teams to evolve and achieve full potential. It's a huge cross-Medallia investment in our people. Finally, it's important to separate growth from scale. More engineers and more hours don't solve the challenge of scale, so we've made substantial technical investments that enable us to expand the business in a sustainable manner. You've experienced and observed several, and you'll continue to see more. By growing our teams, leaders, and technology, I believe that we are addressing the points you've raised, but if at any point you would like to reach out, please don't hesitate. I'm happy to better understand where you see additional opportunity. - Neil, Director of Production Engineering @ Medallia

Pros

Nothing much to say here. Management is messed up. All tech initiatives are showcase only. There are genuinely smart people, but they are managed by worse management you can imagine.

Cons

- many bad CEOs, many bad managers. - the whole company is slow. - no one know what the company’s mission statement is. - PE firms have no idea what they are doing.
