Pros

I was never pushed harder professionally. I'll be forever thankful for the learning and skills gained. I now have a new definition of "stress."

Out of 22 sales reps in my new-hire orientation, 75% or more of them left within 6 months and I only know ONE that is still at the organization 2 years later. Let me repeat that... Out of 30 sales reps in my new-hire orientation, 75% or more of them left within 6 months and I only know ONE that is still at the organization 2 years later. Don't be fooled by the IPO talks...they have been going on for 5+ years now since the old PTC management team took over (all of which are gone now...). A handful of reps are making HUGE well deserved money, however, its sink or swim. Just know what you are going into... They claimed the average rep is fully ramped in 6 months during my interview process. Comical. I know about 30 reps who didn't sell a dime in over a year and left.

Thanks for the feedback -- and for your willingness to call out very clearly both what worked (learning and skill development) and what didn’t. It’s clear that, on balance, your experience wasn’t optimal. Since I joined Medallia 1.5 years ago, I have been personally committed to creating an environment in which our sellers can have a reasonable and realistic expectation of success with strong execution and hard work. We’re making real headway. The proportion of our sellers that are hitting goal continues to increase and we have a broader and broader population of folks contributing to our growth. As an example, two-thirds of our ramped reps put points on the board in Q1. Our employee engagement (eNPS) across field sales have increased as we’ve made progress--we’ve seen a 20+ pt improvement over the past few quarters. We’re also focused on setting clear expectations with prospective hires about what’s involved with ramping at Medallia, and what it takes to be successful. Flexible time off, inclusive culture, autonomy in role, great pay and benefits

Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for growth on a small consulting team. Time sheet process was atrocious but perhaps it’s improved since I left.
