Pros
Some travel, get to keep flight miles. Fast paced at times.
Cons
Small, family owed business. The job is mainly about data entry and shuffling papers. None of their software systems are integrated, making simple tasks tedious and time consuming. The company needs to be more in tune with modern technology and update their antiquated procedures. Too much paper.
There is an extensive amount of information to learn and a very weak effort made by upper management to train people. Yet they have extremely high expectations right away. New employees are basically tossed a 200 page, home-made manual (with half the information you need missing) and told to figure it out.
Beyond lacking any productive on-boarding program, there is a general air of negativity in the office and condescending attitude from upper management. They tend to give mixed signals and contradictory information.
Even though you get to travel some, you work indoors the entire time (14 -15 hrs a day) that you're there and don't get to see the cities at all.
