Pros

As with most colleges, being an adjunct means you have a cap on classes you can teach and no real guarantees. Mercy has some of the lowest paying positions in the area, but recently they agreed, with the recently unionized adjuncts, to raise the pay a bit and give a few other perks. Teachers are usually there for the students so that keeps them (and me) teaching. I have a good supervisor, so am lucky. Also, the campus is quite lovely.

Cons

No offices for adjuncts anywhere; there used to be a decent room to use, but since then adjuncts have been shunted to a basement space without windows. Not somewhere one of the faculty making up 70% of the college would meet with a student. Mercy had to have their feet to the fire to make any changes in what was previously the lowest per class pay in the area.
