Pros
Excellent pay that is directly influenced by your ability/skill. Worked with very knowledgable coworkers and learned an incredible amount during my time. After 5 years working there I can honestly say it was the best employer I have had. ...... Health insurance is good. Amount of PTO is average, but the mangers will bend over backwards to get the dates you need. In a retail environment that is very rare. Management is great and very understanding. They will work with you closely to get a schedule that fits you, especially if you're in school. ....... Micro Center became family. Throughout my years there I gained many close friends, which is invaluable. Most employees have been there 3-5 years and a lot have 10 years or more in service. This speaks volumes about the company and it should. ...... This company set me up for a career in a sales. I have had three jobs since I left and my success at Micro Center was always referenced and praised. ....... *Note to any potential employees* This is a hard driving commissioned base job. If you love sales and enjoy people you will do very well. There's not overwhelming pressure from managers, and they will spend the time to help you. Also, there are no ridiculous goals to reach month. If you listen your mangers and others you will easily meet and exceed them no problem. Being attentive, knowledgeable, and willing to work hard are necessary. There are various sales contest each month that will put a healthy bonus in your paycheck.
Cons
Christmas hours are a little obnoxious. For a few years the hours were 8am to 11pm during the season. I understand it's retail and you need to work uncomfortable hours at times, however during the extended hours there was very few customers to justify keeping a full staff on hand.
