These positive reviews were written by founders/directors. Constant turnover rate, low pay, very cliquish in spite of small size of team. For the sake of having to coexist peacefully we would force ourselves to hang out and founders would not even show up for that. Mandatory team hangouts were divided and awkward and mostly silent. There were 15 of us. 9 have left in the past year. The founders are smart and created a great product, but are incapable of creating a culture of equal caliber. Whenever we would complain about anything the very hostile response was "we're a tech start-up" which makes no sense because tech start ups are known for their innovation, their equality in ownership, and perks/benefits to offset the risk of working for a start up in the first place. This is a boys club and a lot of highly qualified talent has walked out the door because of the appalling managerial skills (or total lack thereof). There is no HR department. An external team was hired, however they were unresponsive to inquiries or requests. CEO isn't a bad person but is a terrible leader. The fact that they've had to move back to their shared office space at Packard Place doesn't seem like a big step forward.
