Pros
Nice central location in MK with parking. Large open plan office layout with 2 toilets. Glass building makes the office light. Some employees are nice but I didn't stay long enough to really get to know anyone on a personal level. A laptop is provided, secondhand and sub standard I guess this is what Mirus consider a "perk". Burger van across the road is handy for the short 30 minute lunch breaks.
Cons
Where to start? I was, like many, sold a dream. I was told how Mirus are award winning, technology leaders with exceptional growth, happy staff and happy customers. It didn't take me long to realise everything I was told was either an outright lie or was accompanied with some serious small print. Awards they have won, ive never heard of and their customers are very small so exposure to any decent technologies doesn't happen. The staff lunch room (cupboard) is so small that staff are physically sitting on each other during lunch breaks!!! Staff are very unhappy and walk around in genuine fear of management and senior management who regularly bully and intimidate staff into submission. No internal HR existed when I was there and any issues had to be directed to senior management which is oK unless the issue is with senior management! Speaking to staff, they are all looking for other jobs in one capacity or another. Some are locked in to staying at Mirus by course fees and lengthy 3 month notice periods because training is to be paid back if you leave within a year of the course at full retail cost --- but NOT JUST THE COURSE!, they will insist you pay back any related accomodation and expenses!!! So you can see that alot of the staff are in debt to Mirus and find it hard to leave. Due to extremely high staff turn over, you are pushed very hard to choose a course and take it. Now I know why! To try lock you in. Positivity among staff is below zero, direction from management doesn't exist and there seems to be no vision. Upon resignation you are harassed, threatened and intimidated with an almost "how dare you" attitude. It is common knowledge that management and senior management spy on staff and Laptops have their screens spied on and screen grabbed without staff knowledge, phone calls are recorded, internal CCTV records you all day long, internet use is monitored, door entry and exit is monitored and one senior management requested Vodafone give him access to staff text messages!! Vodafone rightly refused but this is the mentality of management and senior management at Mirus. I confirm that service desk staff must ask to use the toilet and that toilet time is timed. Overall a very negative experience here and I resigned after looking for and being offered a role at a different company before my 6 months probation was completed. In the short time I was there I witnessed a large number of resignations. I wish I had read these reviews before applying to Mirus in the first place it would have saved me a lot of time.
