Pros

I couldn't ask for a better place to work. There is a commitment to excellence at Bateman that quickly rubs off and motivates you to be better. We all work incredibly hard, but have a lot of fun doing it—the office is always filled with laughter and it sometimes feels more like a startup than a PR agency (and yes, we have do love our Bateman hoodies!). There is a very clear career progression path. Promotions are made fairly and you always know where you stand in the process. In the last few years as the company has grown, the company has also built out dedicated Content and Media Practices, so there is the option to specialize if that makes sense for you. On the other side of the token, people who don't hold their weight or have huge egos don't last long here, which keeps motivation high among the rest of employees. Great clients, and we're increasingly working some of the most exciting startups/larger tech companies in the nation. To support personal and professional growth, Bateman also has mentorship and professional development programs, the latter which includes brownbags related to media, writing and client service issues. If you have a chance to work here, do!

Cons

Can't think of anything major. Like most agencies, the job can be stressful and you're constantly multi-tasking but staff keep fairly normal hours most of the time.

Pros

I was at MN for five years and learned a lot about corporate comms! They certainly train and invest in early career employees.

Cons

Unrealistic workload, no work-life balance. Management wants you to post in a thousand little Slack boards instead of doing your work.

Pros

They pay you very well to keep you quiet.

Cons

False transparency. Superficial culture. HR is there to protect the business, not the employees. They check the boxes great for inclusivity, but it's all superficial. Every employee survey even shows that LGBTQIA+ and those with disabilities don't feel seen or heard despite having ERGs. They don't promote on quality of skills or performance, they only care about soft skills and how others see you. If you're not willing to play the game, you probably should work somewhere else. It's 100% politics after they pushed out their former partner.
