Pros

- We're focused on the right problems as a company. Everyone feels like they're rowing in the same direction, and leadership keeps everything focused on end customer value -- it genuinely feels mission-driven and important to work here. - Competence across the company is a baseline. Every role contributes a lot to the end customer experience, and we have a high hiring bar with lots of extremely talented coworkers that are choosing to be here everyday. - The market opportunity feels massive and we're well positioned from a product and distribution angle to succeed. Growing our core business feels like a largely execution-constrained problem where if we continue to build great products, we'll see strong outputs in growth.

Cons

- Growing pains of cross-company collaboration are starting to show up -- more process is being added slowly to deal with this, but it's largely homegrown and reinvented from first principles as needed (sometimes too late). - Recruiting new talent is hard-won and largely word-of-mouth driven today. Miter still feels under-the-radar; we'd love to hire more aggressively if we could do so repeatably.

Pros

Miter is one of the most talent-dense companies I've worked at. The team genuinely cares about building a great product and helping customers who shape our built world. You'll have the opportunity to make an outsized impact very quickly, and because everyone at the company works closely with customers, you'll see and feel the direct impact of your work. The team is collaborative, humble, and driven by a strong culture of ownership and feedback. Miter invests in its employees (Mitosaurs) and is constantly innovating to better enable the team while continuing to make it a great place to work.

Cons

Miter is a fast growing startup and the pace is not for everyone. The bar is high and there is a lot of work to be done. Processes are still maturing as the company scales, so if you're looking for a highly structured environment with everything already figured out, this may not be the right fit.

Pros

- Amazing team. Everyone cares about what they do and is genuinely fun to work with, which makes the job way more motivating. People actually like each other on a personal level, so it's just a good environment to spend your day in. - Leadership is transparent. They're upfront about where the company actually stands and where they're trying to go. The org feels flat too, so you get real decision-making power from day one instead of waiting years for it. - Managers genuinely care about your growth and try to put you on projects that actually excite you. And because the company is growing so fast, there's a lot of room to shift directions in your career if you want to — new teams and roles are popping up all the time. - Miter's values aren't just buzzwords on a website, you actually see them play out in day to day decisions and practices. It's rare to find a company where the culture genuinely matches what they say they're about, but Miter pulls it off.

Cons

It's a startup, so things move fast and everyone's still figuring stuff out as they go — that's just the nature of the stage we're at. People also hold themselves to a high bar, which is great for the work but can be a lot to manage some weeks. It's not really a clock-in, clock-out kind of place, so you've gotta be intentional about protecting your own work-life balance.
