Pros

The people you work with are great and it is a very nice international mix, you can all bond over how much you all equally hate your job too, so you tend to have something in common with almost anyone you talk to in the office.

Cons

Where to begin...you are generally underpaid by a lot. You are promised promotions and bonuses but instead get no job security and wonder if they might fire you just because, well, for no reason generally. There is constant talk of bringing back the company culture, but no movement at any point to actually do that, free beers on a Friday do not make up for the terrible working atmosphere you endure during the week. If you like communication, run! The communication between heads and staff is the worst I have ever seen. Never before have I worked for a company that is run in such a poor manner, there is no money management, staff appreciation, or solid communication. It can be difficult to find work in Hamburg without being able to speak German, but my advise would be, you are better off with no job, than a job at Kreditech...although everyone is a 'manager' of something, so it does look good on your CV.

Pros

nice office and people (most of them resigned already due to the cons) overall, it was a good experience in the beginning.

Cons

-new office location, if you dont leave in altona area(that is the case for most unless you wanna spend a significant percentage of you salary in rent) prepare yourself to waste a lot of time to go to work. - lack of planing : priorities and scope changes daily. - teams are not all centralized : part of the team is in HH and part in thailand /poland. (would be totaly fine if communication between teams was clear - but not the case). - lack of innovation : for a "FinTech", you would expect investiment in new technologies and innovation but thats not the case. teams are always loaded with problems to solve or crazy deliveries that there is no time to invest in new things.(and when its actually proposed, if its not cost saving you wont get it done, it doenst matter the benefits of it) - no investiment in employees, no trainning . - no flexibility in home office - HR surveys dont really make any difference. - company culture/social environment has change a loooot !, HR dont work on the integration between people and different teams and it makes a big difference in the work env. - HR dont seem to care much about what you have to say: I had no exit interview - just deliver your computer and bye bye !

Thank you for taking the time for leaving a review here on Glassdoor. A lot of the points you mentioned show me that you perceived many topics at Kreditech as negative. Let me comment on some of the aspects: 1) Employee Development is very important for us at Kreditech and we put a lot effort & focus into it. Our internal trainer & coach offers training sessions regularly around topics such as Development Planning, OKR setting, %C2%A0or Feedback. We also do demand based 1-day Offsites for our teams, in which we talk about team dynamics and collaboration. Additionally we regularly offer Leadership trainings for our people managers and conduct Leadership Dialogues and offer demand based functional trainings. 2.) The monthly employee surveys, through which we try to get all our employees opinion around specific topics, were just introduced in Juli 2019. It is a tool that helps the HR and the Senior Leadership team to better understand what works well & what we need to focus on more. It delivers very valuable insights for us, but we need some patience from our employees until actions can be derived and results be seen. %C2%A03) Exit interviews are a key part of our Off-boarding process and each HR Business Partner invites a leaver a few days before the departure to talk about their experience at Kreditech. Please accept our apologies, if we missed to set up one with you. This should not have happened. %C2%A04) The work environment is very important to all our employees and this is why it has always been and still is a priority. Company parties for Christmas and in summer, beer o'clock, women's lunch, CEO breakfast for newcomers, Townhalls per team, All employee meetings etc. are just a few examples of events we do to bring the team together. In our funroom with a kicker and table tennis many employees mingle daily and spend some relaxing time together. For our new office we have put a lot of energy and thought into how to create a great, cool and state of the art work environment. Stay tuned for the new office layout.
