Very stressful place, a lot of competition and politics. They monitor everything you do. every action and every minute you’re not at your computer. If you take a coffee break longer than 10 minutes, you’ll get a comment about it. There are “boots,” which are supposed to be quiet rooms for focused work, but you’re “not allowed” to work there for more than half an hour. None of this is official policy, of course, but managers will still comment and enforce it. When you work from home, you’re constantly being checked on Slack to see if you’re available, because they don’t trust you. There are quiet layoffs. women who are pregnant or on maternity leave get fired, and the company tries to keep it under the radar. In my view, this is a very unethical workplace. You arrive and quickly feel like you’re in the Hunger Games, just waiting to see who’s next.
