Pros

- Recently updated their 401K to match employees, unlimited sick days - Snacks, Drinks - Updated equipment and open to new programming processes - Co-workers are intelligent, probably too smart for their own good - Be expected to learn a lot, good and bad

Cons

- The atmosphere is toxic, many employees are in positions they aren't qualified for; e.g. programmers that are in management positions. - Management is ill-equipped to manage their employees since the acquisitions. The company grew too large. They lack the skills to communicate effectively. - Surprise lay-offs. When the numbers don't add up, people get canned. No change in upper management or strategies. The rank and file get punished. - Answers.com reputation as clickbait hurts the SaaS businesses they acquired. Upper management refuses to add value to Answers.com to repair their reputation. Focuses on new clickbait websites, but it's more of the same. Too reliant on Google Ads / Facebook for revenue. - Company pivots constantly. Be expected to work late hours / travel for little recognition. - No diversity.

Pros

The benefits at Multiply are amazing: 16 weeks maternity and 4 weeks paternity Unlimited sick time and generous PTO + Holidays and a floating holiday. Stocked drinks and snacks w/ healthy options We have a massage therapist that comes every other Thursday. Monthly team events like go carting, escape rooms, brewery tour... that we get whenever we hit our monthly targets. and more that I'm probably forgetting. I get to come in everyday and work on interesting problems with people I enjoy working with. We don't focus on the short term anymore. We frequently give up on opportunities to make more money now if it doesn't align with our core principles. We encourage contributing back to open source projects which is fantastic to see. As it increases our visibility in the wider tech world. We've spoken at conferences and sent people to many as well to learn from the wider community. A real effort from executive leadership to improve company culture has really paid off since early 2017.

Cons

I used to have a lot of cons in 2016 and earlier. But we've really addressed most of them in 2017 and I'm really proud to work here. I guess if I had to come up with something: I'd say that I'd love to see more diversity in our upper management. I'd love to have the staff/time to make unit testing and QA automation a larger focus for the engineering team.
